Mum and dad made it to to top, but promotly caught the lift to the bottom to get me home...

Place de la Concorde - 15.5 wks (03/11)

As soon as we arrived in Paris we jumped on a bus tour.

Yes I know half this pic is my noggin but in the back ground is the 'place de la Concorde', the largest public square in Paris... Construction of the square began in 1754 and was completed in 1763.... in it, is some amazing huuuge status, fountains and monuments.

As well... We found out that Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette (amongst others) were publicly executed here, they were be-headed.... Ooooouch...

A better veiw of the 'Obelisk of Luxor', a pink granite monolith that was given to the French in 1829 by the viceroy of Egypt, Mehemet Ali.

The edifice, which once marked the entrance to the Amon temple at Luxor, is more than 3,300 years old and is decorated with hieroglyphics portraying the reigns of the pharaohs Ramses II and Ramses III.

Fritchley 15 wks (29/10)

Today we drove up from London to the small village of Fritchley, just North of the city Derby.

My Great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great great granddad Richard Fritchley was from there, so we thought it would be cool to check out.

This is the family at the local pub the 'Red Lion'...

Mum outside the post office... There's only a pub, the post office and houses in Fritchley, very small.

Fritchley Cottage

That night we stayed in a village called Matlock, a very pretty wee town about 10m north of Fritchley... we found a nice B & B in town...

The next day, on our way back to London town, we stopped at the Cossall church to check out the Fritchley grave stones... Great.... great Granddad Richard Fritchely wrote on his head stone "Praises written on tombs are trifles iddly spent, a mans good deeds are his best monument"... This guy was wise! He passed away in 1795... a very long time ago...
